Switching from Mealime

Mealime shuts down on October 21. Here's how to keep cooking your favorites.

Mealime can't export your recipes, plans, or grocery lists. Suppa is a free iPhone meal planner that works from recipes you bring: screenshots of your Mealime favorites, links from any recipe site, TikTok and Instagram posts, or a photo of a cookbook page.

What's happening to Mealime

  • Mealime has announced it will be discontinued on October 21, 2026. Until then, Pro features are free for everyone, and Pro subscriptions won't renew.
  • When the app closes, your account data is deleted. Mealime has no export for recipes, meal plans, or grocery lists.
  • Mealime's recipes are moving to Meals Hub, inside Albertsons Companies' grocery apps. Accounts don't carry over, so you'd set up your preferences again there.

Before October 21

Bring the recipes you actually cook

  1. Screenshot the recipes you'd miss

Open each one in Mealime and capture the ingredients and the steps. Most recipes fit in two or three screenshots.

  2. Import them from Photos

In Suppa, tap Import from Photo and pick the screenshots for one recipe. Suppa reads them and fills in the ingredients and steps for you to check.

  3. Put them on this week's plan

Drop a recipe on Tuesday and its ingredients go onto your grocery list, grouped by aisle.

When Suppa isn't the right switch

  • You're on Android. Suppa is iPhone-only for now.
  • You want Mealime's recipes, not your own. Those recipes are moving to Meals Hub. If you shop at an Albertsons Companies store, that's the closest match.
  • You liked having dinners picked for you. Free Suppa plans the recipes you choose. With Suppa Plus, the Assistant suggests dinners around your household's tastes and the allergies you set, and you pick what goes on the plan.

Questions

Can I move my Mealime account into Suppa?

Not directly, because Mealime has no export. Screenshots of a recipe work with Import from Photo, and if you remember a dish's name, Suppa's search looks across recipe sites as well as your own recipes.

Is Suppa free?

Yes. Importing from links, videos, and photos is free, and so are meal planning, grocery lists, and Cook Mode. If you're bringing over a long list of recipes, Suppa Plus includes more video and photo imports each month. Paid plans start at $9.99 a month and include a free trial for new subscribers.

Can my partner see the plan and the grocery list?

Sharing comes with paid plans. Plus shares with other Suppa subscribers, Family adds one person who doesn't pay, and Premium adds five.
